Agent box office collection Day 4: Akhil Akkineni’s film goes further

By Janani K.: Akhil Akkineni’s Agent has been receiving negative reviews since its theatrical release last week. The film, directed by Surender Reddy, was slammed by audiences and critics for its ridiculous story and screenplay. The film is slowly approaching Rs 10 crore at the domestic box office at the end of four days. A few days ago, Akhil’s mother and former actress Amala Akkineni took to social media to talk about the film’s response.

While Agent saw decent numbers on its opening day, it saw a steep decline over the weekends due to negative word of mouth. On its first Monday (April 1) at the box office, the film is estimated to have collected Rs 75 lakh in theaters. This brings the total four-day collection to Rs 9.60 crore.

For a movie that was made on a budget of nearly Rs 80 crore, that’s certainly an incredibly low number.

His tweet read: “We must take full responsibility for #Agent. Although we know it’s a daunting task, we thought of conquering but we didn’t succeed because we made a mistake in starting the project with no related script and countless issues including covid tracking (sic)”.

He further added: “We don’t want to give any excuses, but let’s learn from this costly mistake and see how we can turn around to make sure we never repeat the mistakes. Our apologies to all those who trust us. We will make up for the losses with dedicated planning and hard work in our future projects (sic). »

The Agent features Akhil Akkineni and Mammootty in the lead roles. Dino Moreo, Sakshi Vaidya, Vikramjeet Virk, Denzil Smith, Sampath Raj, Murali Sharma and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar are part of the supporting cast.
