NEW DELHI, 06 May: The long-awaited trailer for Arunachali’s upcoming film ‘Love in 90’s’ by film director, Tapen Natam, was launched by Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju at the National Media Center here on Saturday.
Prominent members of the film industry, journalists and students from across the North East attended the event.
Rijiju, who is known for his passion for entertainment and supporting local talent, expressed his enthusiasm for the project and praised the director and cast for their efforts.
The trailer introduces the vibrant and colorful world of the 90s, making “Love in 90’s” the first-ever film based on the Tagin community of the Upper Subansiri district of the state and entirely in the Tagin language.
Directed by Natam, the film brings the state’s rich culture, tradition and local film initiatives to the national stage.
On the occasion, Kiren Rijiju said, “It is a matter of pride that we are at a time when all communities in India truly have the opportunity to shine under the visionary leadership of our PM Modi. As a country, we need to watch over, support and encourage our own people to showcase our rich culture and our communities. And being the very first film from the Tagin community in Arunachal, entirely shot in the Tagin language, I am proud to be a part of this historic event.
This is a groundbreaking project that shines a light on the love story of two young people amidst the hardships faced by their community in Arunachal Pradesh in the 1990s.
The film not only celebrates local talent and filmmaking initiatives, but also offers a unique perspective on the struggles and triumphs of the Tagin community. Through this film, the public can witness the beauty of Tagin’s culture and traditions and better appreciate the rich heritage of the region.
Natam is a state award winning director and has many national and international awards and accolades under his name.
He expressed his excitement for the project and said, “I am thrilled to finally share a preview of our film with the world. Love in the 90s is a realistic romantic film that captures the essence of young love in a nostalgic and relatable way.
The event also saw a memorable performance from singer Mohit Chauhan and his graceful presence in support of the film was appreciated by all. A special surprise in the form of a video message from Salman Khan sending his best wishes to the Love in the 90’s team was shown at the event.
The film has a running time of two hours and is scheduled for release in the first week of June in Arunachal Pradesh.
The event included a press interaction session where Rijiju and the director discussed the challenges of local cinema in the state, the production of the Tagin-language film, and their overall experience.
