CBS is betting on familiar faces (and a familiar IP) next season, ordering a good wife fallout, a Matlock reboot and a serial Wayans family affair.
The first is Elsbethan extension of the good wife universe centered on Carrie Preston’s Elsbeth Tascioni. After a successful career in Chicago, this latest spinoff follows the “shrewd but unconventional lawyer” as she “uses her singular perspective to make unique observations and corner brilliant criminals alongside the NYPD,” according to the line. official login. Wendell Pierce (Jack Ryan) and Carra Patterson (Turner & Hooch) co-starred.
The Eye Network has also placed a series order with Matlock. Inspired by Andy Griffith’s classic of the same name, the ‘reimagining’ features Oscar-winning actress Kathy Bates as the title character – a ‘brilliant septuagenarian’ named Madeline Matlock who ‘re-enters the staff of a prestigious law firm where she uses her modest demeanor and shrewd tactics to win lawsuits and expose corruption from within Skye P. Marshall (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Jason Ritter (Kinship), David Del Rio (The baker and the beauty) and Lea Lewis (Nancy Drew) co-starred.
Last but not least is Grandpa’s housethe previously untitled comedy Wayans which features Damon Wayans as a “legendary radio host whose views are challenged on the job when a new co-host (played by Half half‘s Essence Atkins) is hired, and home where he still finds himself raising his adult son (happy endings‘ Damon Wayans Jr.), a brilliant dreamer who tries to pursue his passion while being a responsible father and husband. Tetona Jackson (Domestical economy) also stars.

CBS previously renewed Blue blood (for season 14), Bob Hearts Abishola (for season 5), Expert: Vegas (for season 3), The equalizer (for season 4), FBI (for season 6), FBI: international (for season 3), FBI: Most Wanted (for season 5), land of fire (for season 2), Ghosts (for season 3), NCIS (for season 21), NCIS: Hawaii (for season 3), The neighborhood (for season 6), So help me Todd (for season 2), CRUSH (for a final Season 7) and Young Sheldon (for season 7).
Not returning for the 2023-24 broadcast season are Eastern New York And real lies (both canceled after one season), and NCIS: Los Angeles (which ends its 14-season run on Sunday, May 21).
