Celebrity guest list set for Derby Eve Gala to benefit Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center UK

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (May 1, 2023) It’s Derby week in Kentucky and that means dozens of celebrities are heading to Churchill Downs in Louisville – many of them spending Friday night at the Barnstable Brown Kentucky Derby Eve Gala. The gala is internationally recognized as the “Premier” Kentucky Derby Gala and is listed as one of the “Ten Best Parties in the World” by Condé Nast. The organizers are proud of the line-up of celebrities that make up the guest list for their 34th annual gala.

The gala benefits UK HealthCare’s Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center to help combat a disease that disproportionately affects Kentucky. The center was established in 2008 by twin sisters Patricia Barnstable Brown and Priscilla Barnstable with their late mother, Wilma. Together they pledged initial funding to support the center in memory of Patricia Barnstable Brown’s husband, David, who died in 2003 of complications from diabetes.

“The support of the Barnstable Brown family has enabled the rapid growth of the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center. The need for specialist care is greater than ever,” said Simon Fisher, MD, Ph.D., director of Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center. “The number of patients seen at Barnstable Brown has doubled in recent years. Each year, more than 22,000 Kentuckians receive specialized medical care at Barnstable Brown. »
