Celebrity race around the world heads to BBC One shortly after being delayed due to the pandemic.
The spin-off arrives shortly after Race around the world Season 3 is over, so we’ll have even more adventures to look forward to soon.
Speaking about the upcoming programme, David Brindley, Head of Commissioning, Popular Factual and Factual Entertainment, said: “We have been delighted with the success of Race Across the World on BBC Two and are now incredibly delighted to bring famous faces to what will be an adrenaline-filled and entertaining series on BBC One.
“Our celebrities won’t be able to rely on their fame and fortune on this journey and we can’t wait to see what spirit and skills will take them to the finish line first, in what is quickly becoming one of the most eye-opening and most grueling challenges on TV.”

Celebrity Race Across the World release date
We don’t have a confirmed release date for Celebrity race around the world at the moment, but the BBC has promised it will air in the fall of 2023.
What is the premise of Celebrity Race Across the World?
According to the BBC: “In this special version for celebrities, four familiar faces will race with a loved one or close friend from the start line in one part of the world to the finish thousands of miles away – without using any air travel or any other. Deprived of all mod cons and luxuries, they will have to rely on skill, cunning, ingenuity and talent rather than the privileges and perks of fame to succeed.
“This incredible journey will provide unique insight into celebrities and their relationship with fellow travelers as they are pushed to the absolute limit.”
The premise goes on to say that celebrities “will face the challenge of traveling without using credit cards, smartphones, or internet access.”
They have the cash equivalent of a one-way plane ticket to their final destination, so they are expected to earn extra money and rely on the kindness of strangers if they want to win.
Who is participating in Celebrity Race Across the World?
We don’t know which celebrities will be competing, but the BBC has confirmed there will be four stars alongside their chosen partners, so we’ll have to wait and see who’s up to the challenge.
