‘Evil Dead Rise’ Evokes Strong Domestic Box Office Performance

Evil Dead Rise got off to a strong start at the box office, opening to $23.5 million domestically in its first weekend of release. The horror sequel has received positive reception from fans and critics alike, as evidenced by this strong opener. Lee Cronin (The hole in the ground) directed the film, with the evil Dead brain Sam Raimi produce.

This number was enough to Evil Dead Rise to land second place at this weekend’s domestic box office, just short of Universal and Illumination Entertainment’s animated juggernaut, The movie Super Mario Bros.. Increase was able to overtake other newcomers, such as Guy Ritchie’s Pactfeaturing Jake Gyllenhaal, Ari AsterIt is handsome is scared with Joaquin Phoenixand period piece Knight. The horror sequel did well in some of the biggest national markets, such as Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago, with the top location being AMC Burbank in California.

Warner Bros. must be incredibly pleased with this total for two reasons. First, the film has already exceeded its modest budget of $19 million. Increase has some respite, especially in the horror genre, with 20th Century Studios The bogeyman the next big horror movie to hit theaters. But perhaps even more, this critical and financial reception undoubtedly justifies the studio’s decision to release Evil Dead Rise in theaters, as originally planned for HBO Max. Warner Bros. opted for a theatrical release due to positive preliminary tests. While streaming has been an important resource for all fans to absorb content amid the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s something to be said for the theatrical experience, especially with a horror movie like this. -this.
