‘Extraction 2’ Trailer Reveals Chris Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake Has Returned From The Dead

There never was Really a question of whether Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) would survive his seemingly fatal fall at the end of Extraction-the question was, and remains, what his survival would mean for his future. In the official trailer for extract 2, this question is posed to Rake as he reappears on the scene under a hail of gunfire, doing his best to get a family out of the crosshairs of some seriously sinister individuals. The film finds Hemsworth and director Sam Hargrave return to double down on the epic action they kicked off in the original. Also back is longtime Hemsworth collaborator Joe Russo (you know him, he co-directed a few little avengers films), who wrote the screenplay. Rake is back and he has new people to protect, though the reasons for his survival remain unclear.

The trailer features some exciting settings, including an epic train fight and some very tricky combat skills. You’ll notice Rake’s ingenuity when it comes to setting traps. Rake has a new mission. somehow more dangerous than the previous one; save the family of a notorious Georgian gangster. As we learned in the original Extraction, as ruthless and skillful as he is, Rake has a heart. He will go above and beyond his duties; the man is a mercenary, after all, to save the lives of those in his charge. This very often means risking his own against insane odds.

Hemsworth is joined by Golshifteh Farahani (reviving her role from the original film), Adam Bessa, Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili.

Chris Hemsworth returns as Tyler Rake in EXTRACTION 2, the sequel to Netflix’s hit action movie EXTRACTION. After barely surviving the events of the first film, Rake is back as an Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: to rescue the battered family of a ruthless Georgian mobster from the prison where they are being held.

Hemsworth reunites with director Sam Hargrave, with Joe and Anthony Russo producing AGBO and writing Joe Russo. Golshifteh Farahani reprises her role from the first film, with Adam Bessa, Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili also co-starring.

It is a sequel to the first film based on the graphic novel ‘Ciudad’ by Ande Parks, from a story by Ande Parks, Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, with art by Fernando León González. EXTRACTION 2 is executive produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, Chris Hemsworth, Patrick Newall and Sam Hargrave, with Jake Aust, Benjamin Grayson, Steven Scavelli, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely serving as executive producers.
