Fast X Is Expected To Make $300 Million At The Box Office On Its Debut – Xfire

Fast X, the tenth – and possibly penultimate – installment in the Fast and Furious franchise, is set to debut in theaters this week.

Fast X wowed audiences in early previews ahead of its debut this week.

According to Deadline’s projections, the film will gross $235 million overseas and over $60 in the United States and Canada. While the projected total gross of $295 million is in itself an impressive feat, it’s less so when compared to other films in the franchise with 2017’s Fate of the Furious earning $541.9 million and 2015’s Furious 7. grossing $397.6 million on their respective debuts.

Fast X will debut in 4,000 theaters in the United States and Canada before launching in 81 overseas markets, including the United Kingdom, France, Australia, Italy, Brazil, South Korea , Mexico, Belgium and China.

Of particular significance is the film’s debut in China, where the franchise has proven hugely popular. Since the release of Fast & Furious 6 in 2013, the franchise has grossed over $1.2 billion in this country alone.

Fast X will follow Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto and his family as they battle against Jason Momoa’s Dante Reyes who threatens their very existence. Reyes, the son of drug kingpin Hernan Reyes, has a personal vendetta against Toretto and his crew for the loss of his family’s fortune.

Besides Diesel, Fast X will see Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, John Cena, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron reprise their roles from earlier in the franchise.

It will also feature Momoa, Brie Larson, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson and Rita Moreno, all of whom are new additions to the cast.

Louis Leterrier directed the film based on a script by Dan Mazeau and Justin Lin, who left due to a feud with Diesel. Leterrier will also direct Fast 11 with Christina Hodson and Oren Uziel attached to write the script.

Even though the franchise has been around for a long time, it seems fans are still very much in love with it. Last week, social media was flooded with rave reviews of the film from fans who were lucky enough to preview it ahead of its worldwide debut.

Fast X will see Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto and his family take on an enemy bent on revenge for past grievances.

On top of that, TheWrap’s report that Dwayne Johnson appears in Fast X’s post-credits scene, implying a return to the franchise six years after his public feud with Diesel, has sent ripples through the community and excited fans. .

In a recent interview with Variety alongside his co-star Rodriguez, Diesel hinted at the possibility of a twelfth episode. The Guardians of the Galaxy star said Universal originally commissioned a two-part finale for the franchise, they asked if he could expand it into a trilogy after seeing Fast X.

Diesel and Rodriguez have hinted that Diesel has agreed, though we suspect that will depend on the success of Fast X and Fast 11.

Fast X hits theaters on May 19 while Fast 11 will arrive on an as yet unannounced date in 2025.
