DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the front desk staff will oversee all front desk operations within The Grove at DeLaveaga. General duties will include scanning tickets, supervising ushers, setting up and taking down the hall, and distributing programs for events and shows. The position begins in mid-July and ends at the end of August. Working hours are evenings and weekends according to the performance schedule.
Ticket office staff
DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Director of Operations and the Director of Ticketing, the ticketing staff will oversee all ticketing needs within The Grove at DeLaveaga. General duties will include responding to phone and email inquiries, selling tickets for performances at The Grove and troubleshooting ticketing issues. The position begins in mid-July and ends at the end of August. Working hours are alternating days, evenings and weekends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Must maintain a professional attitude and image to ensure the highest level of customer service.
- Must be able to be diplomatic and consider the diverse populations that visit The Grove as well as the limitations of those who volunteer.
- Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities at once.
- Will be required to work non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends, as assigned.
- Oversee ushers, guest safety, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance.
- Coordinate activities (timing, intermissions) with the manager.
- Oversee ticket collection and accounting.
- Respond effectively in an emergency by following approved protocol, including evacuations and knowing who to call, what paperwork to complete and process.
- Compile performance information for the house manager’s report every night.
- Work with the Director of Operations to recruit new volunteers and participate in orientations.
PARKING SPECIFICATIONS:
- Receive cash and/or prepaid tickets from customers
- Direct vehicular traffic to designated locations on site
- Work with the parking manager (volunteer) in training volunteer parking attendants
WINE BAR CHARACTERISTICS:
- Receive cash/cards for drinks
- Assist The Grove Operations Manager in ordering and tracking inventory of items and supplies
- Must have the appropriate certifications for pouring alcoholic beverages.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reliable accounting.
- May have to lift program boxes and heavy tables.
- May have to ‘freshen up’ bathroom as caretaker not always around for performances.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous customer service experience
- Have flexibility for weekly working hours based on show performance. Performance times will include evenings and weekends until at least 11 p.m.
- Must be able to work well independently and be able to perform in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills required.
- The candidate must be able to successfully manage multiple priorities in sometimes very stressful situations and be able to work with the public and possess conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and other cloud software applications as required.
COMPENSATION:
The starting salary for this position will be $15.50/hour plus overtime, if applicable. Schedule to be determined according to the summer show schedule.
