Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4 receives disappointing update from James Gunn despite Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 good performance at the box office. One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s beloved franchises officially came to an end this year as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 saw the heroes together on one last mission. The film also marked Gunn’s fitting exit from the MCU, as he now focuses entirely on creating the new DC Universe for Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios. Gunn’s guardians of the galaxy The trilogy finale is already successful at the global box office, grossing nearly $530 million.
However, despite commercial success and critical acclaim, a future guardians of the galaxy movie may not be as much of a guarantee. Gunn was recently asked on Twitter if there was a chance for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4 in the future. The filmmaker gave a short but disappointing update, saying there was no real chance of that happening.
It should be taken into account that Gunn may have meant that there is “no real chance” For Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4 with him as a filmmaker. Chances are another director could start a new trilogy with these characters, as Gunn runs DC Studios full-time.
Why Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 4 May not be needed at this time
As interesting as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4 would be, the team doesn’t necessarily need another solo movie to use in the MCU. Given the size Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 end was, it would only be an injustice to rush development of a sequel just to maintain momentum. Instead, having the new Guardians team in other MCU movies and shows would be the best bet. While it’s unclear where they’ll appear next, it’s safe to assume that Rocket and his team will return in at least Avengers: Kang Dynasty And Avengers: Secret Wars in a certain way.
Even if Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4 It seems like a sure thing, it’s key to remember that Marvel Studios already has plenty of other franchises in the works, old and new. While plans for Phase 7 haven’t even been announced yet, it wouldn’t be shocking if Kevin Feige already had plans for this slate, which would keep another one waiting. Guardians of the Galaxyfilm a long one there. It’s even possible that Feige also planned things for Phases 8 and 9, which would push things further.
Time will tell how the MCU plans to use the Guardians of the Galaxy after their trilogy finale, but it seems unlikely they’ll ever be used again. At the very least, Star-Lord will return depending on Guardians‘ post-credits title screen. But for now, until Feige reveals official plans, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4 not coming anytime soon.
