Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 continued its reign at the domestic box office this past weekend. james gunnMarvel’s swan song is just what the MCU needed to restore faith in the hearts of its passionate fans. However, now it looks like this Rocket Raccoon-centric trilogy capper did even better than expected in its second weekend. Flight. 3 earned $62.6 million domestically in its second weekend of release, more than $2 million more than its original estimate of $60.5 million. That last number was already impressive considering it only represented a 49% drop in the box office between weekends. The new figure represents only a drop of 47%.
It also means Flight. 3 easily broke the $200 million mark domestically with $216.5 million. Overall, the film crossed the $500 million mark with $530.9 million. That’s thanks to markets like China where the emotional epic has already grossed $58.4 million. What is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 About?
Flight. 3 sees the High Evolutionary and Adam Warlock sue Rocket for the information he has in his head. When the now famous Guardian is seriously injured, it’s up to Star-Lord and the rest of the team to save their best friend before it’s too late. One of the main reasons Flight. 3 works so well that it centers around Rocket and its dark past. Gunn weaves a mature story about trauma and loss while masterfully blending it with the wacky Guardians antics lovers know and love. That means there are plenty of emotionally intense scenes involving subject matter like animal abuse, but it’s only ever there to beautifully showcase the best qualities of humanity. Our ability to love and spread joy.
Through the pent-up darkness of Rocket blooms an infectious feel-good story about growth, friendship, and honoring the people in our lives who have guided us forward. Flight. 3The emotional spectrum of is so rich that it has made the film irresistible to repeat viewings. Unlike a movie like Quantumaniamoviegoers actively see Flight. 3 again and again. It’s a truly moving film that will bring you to tears no matter how many times you see it. It’s satisfying to see that reflected in its strong box office performance.
Will be Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 exceed Flight. 2is the lifetime box office?
