Letitia Wright is ready to step away from Wakanda and into the Wild West in the trailer for SurroundedAnthony Mandler’s new westernFreak). The film also marks the last performance of the late Michael K. Williams.
Williams died in 2021 at the age of 55, after a long and powerful career. It was part of many Hollywood classics such as 12 Years a Slave and major franchises like The purgeGhostbusters or RoboCop. On television, his last two titles have been highly acclaimed shows, Lovecraft Country And When they see usafter appearing on many popular shows over the years like Community Or Thread.

“Five years after the Civil War, freedwoman and former Buffalo soldier Moses “Mo” Washington travels west to claim a gold mine – the sum of years of labor for Mo and his community. C It’s a wicked and dangerous world for an unaccompanied black woman in 1870s America and so Mo travels to the Deep Frontier disguised as a man.After her stagecoach is ambushed by a group of murderous robbers, Mo is forced to hold legendary outlaw Tommy Walsh captive while the remaining surviving passengers seek help. What ensues is a battle of wills, blurring the line between kidnapper and captive, as they attempt both to survive the harsh western landscape.
The cast also includes Jamie Bell, Jeffrey Donovan and Brett Gelman. The screenplay is written by Andrew Pagana, Justin Thomas and Andrew Pagana.
The past, present and future of Letitia Wright
The Marvel star began her career in 2011, both on the small and big screen. She was part of the action drama Victimand had a small appearance on three different TV shows, City of Holby, Boy TopAnd Random.
After that, she had a few more small roles, including an episode of Doctor Who in 2015. In 2017, his first big gig came with black mirrorwhere she played the title character in the sixth and final episode of season four, black museum. But his big break would come in 2018.
She joined the MCU to play T’Challa’s sister and tech expert Wakandan Shuri, playing the character in Black Panther And Avengers: Infinity War. That same year, she starred in The commuter with Liam Neeson and was part of the cast of Steven Spielberg Loan player one.
She has since returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Endgame And Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where she starred as the titular hero following the passing of Chadwick Boseman. She was also in Kenneth Branagh Death on the Nileand part of the acclaimed television series small ax created by Steve McQueen.
As for her future, the actress hopes Shuri will return in a third Black Panther movie, as she told Buzzfeed:
“What I tried to say, maybe I didn’t make it clear enough, to clarify, there’s always hope that you get another movie, especially in a franchise. If he has to be another movie, which I hope there will be, I think there will be; it takes time to make it; you have to go through the scripting process.”
