Nimona Teaser Trailer Features Netflix’s Latest Animated Fantasy Film

Netflix has finally released a trailer for Nimona, the long-running animated film adaptation of ND Stevenson’s bestselling graphic novel of the same name. The video features Netflix’s newest hero as a mischievous teenager named Nimona as she shows off the limitless potential of her shapeshifting abilities. The film is set to debut on June 30.

What to expect in the movie Nimona?

Nimona is directed by Nick Bruno and Troy Quane from a screenplay written by Robert L. Baird and Lloyd Taylor. The film is an epic tale of finding friendship in the most surprising situations and accepting yourself and others as they are.

“When Ballister Boldheart, a knight in a futuristic medieval world, is framed for a crime he didn’t commit, the only one who can help prove his innocence is Nimona, a mischievous teenager with a taste for mayhem – who also happens to be a shapeshifting creature that Ballister has been trained to destroy,” the synopsis reads. “But with the entire kingdom out to get her, Nimona is Ballister’s best (or technically only) sidekick. And as the lines between heroes, villains, and monsters begin to blur, the two set out to wreak some serious havoc – for Ballister to clear his name once and for all, and for Nimona… wreak serious havoc.

It features the voices of Chloë Grace Moretz as Nimona, Riz Ahmed as Ballister Boldheart, Eugene Lee Yang as Ambrosius Goldenloin, Frances Conroy as The Director, Lorraine Toussaint as Queen Valerin, Beck Bennett as Sir Thoddeus Sureblade, Indya Moore as Alamzapam Davis, RuPaul . Charles as Nate Knight, Julio Torres as Diego the Squire, and Sarah Sherman as Coriander Cadaverish.

Executive producers are Robert L. Baird, Megan Ellison and Andrew Millstein, with Roy Lee, Karen Ryan and Julie Zackary. It is a Netflix and Annapurna Pictures production, with DNEG Animation as the animation studio.

The adaptation was first set up at 20th Century Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios in 2015. However, due to the Disney acquisition, the project’s release was delayed several times until Disney decides to close Blue Sky Studios, which resulted in the cancellation of the project.
