Released in theaters on May 5, the film The Kerala Story received mixed reviews from fans and critics. While some called it a “propaganda movie”, others called it “fabulous”. The Kerala Story Box Office Report
The film has generated enough buzz. Trade analysts are hoping that the box office collection of “The Kerala Story” will be surprising and the film will likely enjoy a decent theatrical run. Film industry analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: “#TheKeralaStory gets the ball out of the stadium…Gets off to a GREAT START…Evening and night shows show solid occupancy…Day 1 numbers are up an EYE OPENER for the entire industry… GREAT weekend guaranteed… Fri ₹ 8.03 cr. #India biz. #Boxoffice.”
“It’s a huge achievement as the collections are much better than many mainstream films recently like Bhediya, Cirkus and Shehzada which had some face value. The film is controversial and shows blatant negativity towards a community that can’t -not been seen in Indian cinema in this way and it basically became the selling point of the film. The story of Kerala is similar to The Kashmir Files but the opening is double that film and c “It’s a direct HIT in terms of day one box office. Now it remains to be seen where it goes,” BOI added.
Guardians Of the Galaxy 3 would have run decent deals of around Rs 7 crore nett, but these, driven by advance bookings, require better day one collections. Despite similar collections, The Kerala Story steps will be 60-70% higher.
