The Story of Kerala, directed by Sudipto Sen, was under the radar even before its theatrical premiere. On Sunday, May 7, the film made its biggest ever collection of around Rs 16 crore. The movie saw a modest drop on Monday but still managed to hit a sizable amount. The backlash to Kerala Story has intensified as the government of Bengal recently banned the film. The first Monday of every cinema release is critical, and Adah Sharma’s picture passed the test. He outperformed! The Sudipto Sen movie made more money on day 4 than on day 1. It made around INR 10.50 crore.

The Kerala story earned between Rs 7.50 and Rs 8 crore on the first day. He became the fifth best opener of the year. This brings the four-day total to Rs 45.75 crore. Today, May 9, The Kerala Story is expected to cross the Rs 50 crore mark. On Monday, the Hindi version had an occupancy rate of 27.57%.
